Exploring means taking the risk of going down a road when you don’t know where it will lead.
As a baby, you explore the world and your body.
As a teenager, you explore your boundaries.
As a kinkster, you explore your shame and your desires.
Life is full of chances to explore the world — and yourself.
We are the Kinky Playback Ensemble.
Our journey of exploration began two years ago.
Back then, we were in our “theatrical womb,” rehearsing and discovering our craft: Playback Theatre.
This is a form of improv that combines improvisation with authentic live storytelling.
At that time, we were only dreaming of performing.
Now, we feel ready to take the stage and share our art.
Stepping into performance is itself an act of exploration.
We want to understand what it means, how it feels, and where it might take us.
That’s why it feels right to bring you a show about exploration.
You will share your stories of exploration with us, and we will explore those stories on stage.

We are an improv group rooted in the art of Playback Theater. In our interactive performances, audience members are invited to share real stories from their lives, which we then bring to life on stage—improvised, embodied, and one-of-a-kind. Every show is a one-time-only experience.
We came together through our shared interest in kink, sex-positivity, and radical expression, with a desire to give voice to the communities we’re part of. But every story is welcome—kinky or not. We believe in the power of storytelling to shift energy, open hearts, and create connection.
