BEHIND THE MASK
Playback Theater Performance
Playback Theater Performance
From the moment we are born, we begin to wear masks.
Some are given to us by our families, our culture, and our experiences. Others we create ourselves—to belong, to protect ourselves, to be loved, to succeed, or simply to survive.
Over time, these masks become so familiar that we may forget we are wearing them. We become the responsible one, the caretaker, the rebel, the perfectionist, the performer, the professional. But who are we when those roles begin to fall away?
In this Playback Theatre performance, we invite you to explore the stories behind the masks we wear and discover what happens when we become curious about the identities that shape our lives. What happens in the room, in the body, and in the mind when we are seen beyond the roles we play?
In Playback Theatre, it is the audience that tells the stories. We use the stage as a space to investigate this universal human experience.
Through audience stories and improvised theatre, we will collectively explore how the personas we create shape our relationships, our choices, and our sense of self—and what becomes possible when we gently look behind them.
Because sometimes the masks that once protected us also hide the parts of ourselves that long to be seen.
If you recognize the power of storytelling, ritual, vulnerability, and authenticity—if you have ever experienced the profound resonance of seeing your own story reflected in another—we invite you to join us for an evening of discovery, witnessing, and human connection.

Jung's Secrets is a collective of Playback Theatre performers brought together by a shared love and appreciation for the teachings and methodologies of Carl Jung. Inspired by concepts such as the Shadow, the Persona, and the many hidden dimensions of the human psyche, we explore how Jungian ideas come alive through personal stories, improvisation, and live performance.
